Pet Portrait Commission Information

If you are interested in a silverpoint portrait please begin by filling out the Information Request form or by sending me an e-mail. A portrait is very personal, so I would prefer to speak to you about your pet. Please give a day and evening phone number and a time that would be convenient for me to call you.

Your pet portrait will begin with a preliminary sketch based from the photos you provide as references. Please remember the quality of the photos you send relates to the accuracy of the finished portrait. You may want to refer to the Photographs page of my website.

Most of the major adjustments to the portrait should be made to the pencil sketch. Please be assured that your satisfaction is my main priority and I will work with you until you are completely satisfied. After you approve the e-mail sketch, I will begin the silverpoint and watercolor.

As the work progresses, I will send digital photo updates of your pet's portrait. The work will continue once you approve each photo update. When I have completed the portrait, you will receive a final proof for your approval. You will not receive a portrait you have not approved. Final payment and shipping is due prior to shipment of your pet portrait. All photos will be returned with your finished portrait.

All portraits are done without a background to keep the focus on your pet. If you would like a subtle background image, I will be happy to discuss this option with you.
