Pet Portrait Process

Creating a pet portrait is a joy for me and one that I hope to share with you. It is a wonderful opportunity for me to be able to combine my love for drawing and painting with my love for animals.

As you can see from the portraits on my site, I will not create a photo realistic portrait of your pet, there are plenty of artists or photographers that can do that for you. But I will create an original fine art portrait of your companion that reflects the beauty and joyful spirit within your pet.

After you send me your photos, we will discuss the pose and other preferences you have for the portrait. From there I will complete a pencil drawing for your approval. This sketch will be the basis for the portrait, head shape, expression and facial features will be worked at this stage. After you approve the drawing I will begin the color washes for you to approve. From there I will begin the silverpoint drawing with updates sent for your approval as the portrait progresses. Your satisfaction is my priority, if at anytime you have changes to the updates I will make them.
